Our Story

What we are is not only what we see, but the nature we leave behind — rel
Hello and welcome. I’m Robyn Laycock, a Therapeutic Arts Practitioner and a Neuroaesthetic Fine Artist based at Goolugatup Heathcote Gallery and Museum in Perth, Western Australia. I offer creative, arts-based support and fine art experiences that nurture personal growth, self-expression and wellbeing.
My work is grounded in the transformative potential of creative practice and is informed by transpersonal art therapy training, neuroscience-informed approaches and embodied, sensory processes. I am passionate about creating inclusive, supportive spaces where people of all ages and abilities can explore creativity with confidence and care.
I have a special interest in supporting individuals with vision impairment, blindness, neurodivergence and acquired brain injuries through adaptable, strengths-focused creative practices. Sessions are thoughtfully tailored to individual needs, supporting meaningful participation and access to enriching creative experiences.
Whether I am developing my own artwork or facilitating creative sessions, fine art tuition and workshops, my intention is to support your unique journey with sensitivity, presence and respect.
My artistic practice is deeply informed by study and professional experience with anatomical collections, including the Royal Perth Hospital Anatomical Museum, Murdoch University Anatomy Museum and The University of Western Australia Anatomy Museum. These experiences have strengthened my understanding of human and animal form and continue to shape my work with integrity and care.
I explore themes of neuroaesthetics, nature and our relationship with the environment, and I am enthusiastic about bringing art into community spaces and collaborative projects.
At rel artizan studio, we focus on building confidence through a balanced approach that values both the creative process and the finished artwork. Using reflective practice, mindfulness and creative problem-solving, we transform “happy accidents” into meaningful learning moments that encourage curiosity, resilience and self-expression.
If you’re interested in fine art tuition,
Creative Expression & Wellbeing Sessions,
or seasonal workshops, I would be delighted to hear from you.
When words fall away, let the art speak.
Wishing you joy and confidence in your creative journey. I’m grateful to walk alongside you and look forward to seeing what you create. At rel artizan studio, we nurture creativity, growth and wellbeing through art.
With warmest blessings,
Robyn Laycock - rel
