At rel artizan studio, we are committed to protecting your privacy and treating all personal information with care, integrity, and confidentiality. This policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and protect your information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

rel artizan studio is an independent therapeutic and arts-based practice led by Robyn Laycock, a Transpersonal Art Therapist (Adv. Dip. Transpersonal Art Therapy, Ikon Institute) and Fine Artist (BVA, PGDip Visual Arts, Edith Cowan University). Robyn is currently undertaking postgraduate study in the Master of Therapeutic Arts Practice at the Melbourne Institute of Experiential and
Creative Arts Therapy (MIECAT).

Our Privacy Policy

What Information We Collect
We may collect personal or health-related information when you:
  • Attend art therapy sessions or fine art classes
  • Complete an intake, consent, or creative session form
  • Book a session, subscribe to our mailing list, or contact us
  • Participate in studio exhibitions, workshops, or events

  • Your name, contact details, and date of birth
  • Emergency contact details
  • Information about your health, wellbeing, or relevant background (as voluntarily shared)
  • Notes or reflections from sessions (with your consent)
  • Payment or invoicing details
We only collect what is relevant and necessary to support your care, participation, or engagement with the studio.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to:
  • Support your art therapy or fine art experience
  • Communicate with you about sessions, events, or administrative needs
  • Maintain accurate records in line with ethical and professional guidelines
  • Provide documentation for services such as NDIS support, if applicable
We do not sell, rent, or share your information for marketing purposes.
 
Confidentiality & Situations
Where We May Share Information
All information shared during sessions or through studio forms is treated with confidentiality. We will only share your information if:
  • You provide written consent for it to be shared (e.g. with a support coordinator, school, or allied health professional)
  • We are required by law to do so, such as:
    • When there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others
    • In cases of suspected abuse or neglect
    • If documents are subpoenaed by a court
Where possible, we will always aim to discuss this with you first.
How We Store and Protect Your Information
We store your information securely using:
Password-protected digital systems
Locked physical filing for any hard copy documents
Only Robyn Laycock and authorised studio support staff (if applicable) have access to these records.
We retain records for a minimum of 7 years (or until a minor turns 25), after which they are securely destroyed.
Accessing or Updating Your Information
You have the right to request access to, or correction of, your personal information. To do so, please contact us directly and we will support you through the process.
Mailing List & Website Use
If you sign up to our mailing list, we collect only your name and email address. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any message.
Our website is hosted by Wix.com, which may collect general usage data (e.g. browser type, pages visited). Please refer to Wix’s Privacy Policy for more information.
Your Consent
